Chapter 6 Class Arrangement

1. When will the Chinese proficiency test be held? How are classes divided?

Students who have not studied Chinese before will be placed in a beginners’ class. Those who have studied before will be interviewed by the teachers of the Department of International Education during the registration period to determine which level they belong at.


2. When can I pick up my course timetable?

After paying tuition, take your receipt from the bank to the Office of International Cooperation and Foreign Students’ Affairs to confirm tuition has been paid, and then go to your department to confirm your classes, buy textbooks, and pick up your course timetable.


3. How do I buy my course textbooks?

Undergraduate and graduate students can buy their textbooks at their faculty. Language students can go to the International Education faculty to buy course materials. Please buy your textbooks prior to attending class. The students shall buy the books according the book list by yourself.


4. Where and when are my classes?

The majority of classes at our school are attending in the main teaching building in golden campus. Applied courses (such as experiments, surveys, internships etc.) are held at the respective Faculty’s classrooms.

Generally speaking, language students and first year undergraduate students begin classes at the second week after the semester starts. Non-first year undergraduate students begin classes in the first week of school. For more details on classrooms and time please refer to your course timetable.


5. Is it possible to change classes?

Yes it is. You should contact the head of the Department for details on how to apply.


6. Is it possible to change my major?

In most situations this is not possible.
